Yung-Fang Hsu

Research Assistant (2022)

Yung-Fang Hsu is a DPhil student in Oriental Studies under the supervision of Professor Tian Yuan Tan. Her doctoral research is funded by the scholarship of government sponsorship for overseas study from the Ministry of Education, Taiwan.

Her research interest is in the interplay between drama performance, Chinese art, and music research in early modern China. The research topic she is currently working on is experiencing festival: the study in multimedia and multisensory experience in the Qing Court Festival. Before studying in the University of Oxford, she completed her M.A. in Chinese History of Art at the Courtauld Institute of Art, and her B.A. in Music Performance from Soochow University, Taiwan. She also enjoys exploring different cultures and arts by reading, traveling and communicating with people.
