Lucrezia Botti

Lucrezia Botti obtained a PhD in traditional Chinese literature at SOAS, University of London in 2018, with a thesis titled “The Allure of the Dressing Case: A Study of Yang Weizhen’s (1296–1370) and Wang Cihui’s (1593–1642) Xianglianti (Fragrant-Dressing-Case Style) Poetry”. She taught several courses on traditional Chinese literature and pre-modern Chinese history at SOAS. In recent years, she has also been involved in the organisation of various China-related academic events, including seminars, conferences, and summer schools. Her main academic interests include traditional Chinese amorous-erotic poetry and related literary criticism, images of women in traditional Chinese literature, and Sino-foreign cultural contacts and exchanges.
