Dan Yang

Research Assistant (2022)

Dan Yang is a DPhil student in Oriental Studies under the supervision of Professor Tian Yuan Tan. Her research focuses on classical Chinese drama and its performance, with a special interest in Kunqu. The research topic she is currently working on is The Rules of Singing: Kunqu Pure Singing in Eighteenth-Century China. Before studying in the University of Oxford, Dan received her M.A. in Chinese Studies (Literature Pathway) from SOAS, University of London, and her B.A. in International Cultural Communication from National Academy of Chinese Theatre Arts. As a fan of Kunqu, she enjoys watching and singing Kunqu in her spare time.
