Cheuk Yee Wai

Project Support Coordinator (Dec 2020–present)

Cheuk Yee Wai is reading for a DPhil in Oriental Studies under the supervision of Professor Tian Yuan Tan. She holds an MPhil in Gender Studies and BA in Religious Studies from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Her research interests include sexuality and culture, gender in literature, and history of menstruation. Her current research project explores a selection of 17th Century Chinese erotic fictions with a focus on the representation of female images and interrelationships. She was a research assistant in the TEXTCOURT project before taking up the role of project support coordinator. In her spare time, she runs a non-profit social media platform M Cup M Stuff, which aims to promote period positivity and remove menstrual stigma in the Cantonese/Chinese language medium.
